Ian Brown avoids giving his kids pocket money

Ian Brown

Ian Brown

One of the worst things about being a parent has to be pocket money.

Seriously, dishing out that so-called “pocket money” on a weekly basis must be a real drag.

You just know the kid is going to blow it, wasting your hard-earned cash on choclotte, crisps, computer games and god knows what other junk.

Ian Brown has found a novel way to avoid this painful ritual.

“My kids… have started selling posters of me on eBay,” Brown recently told The Quietus. “They get me to sign them and then sell them online for £10. It saves me having to give them [pocket] money!”

He comment while attending Mick Jones’s Rock N Roll Public Library earlier this week, where Brown said he was impressed by the the Clash guitarist’s collection of memorabilia.

He said he has “loads of Roses stuff at home” and that perhaps he should do a similar exhibition.
