Kings Of Leon say sorry for festival cancellation

 Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon have apologised to fans for axing their slot at Benicassim Festival in Spain after the event was hit by severe thunderstorms.

The group were due to play the outdoor event on Friday but both bands had to pull out at the last minute when the festival was hit with severe weather conditions.

Organisers had hoped to appease angry fans by rescheduling the Kings Of Leon’s headlining act for Saturday (18Jul09).

But the group were unable to perform, as its equipment had already been shipped to Switzerland for a set at the Gurtenfestival tonight.

Drummer Nathan Followill writes on his Twitter.com page, “I’m sad to say that we aren’t playing Benicassim. We are so sorry and bummed about last night. Our gear is already headed to Switzerland.”

Crazed Oasis fan storms the stage at the Benicassim Festival in Spain

Oasis were at the centre of yet another security blunder this tour after another crazed fan stormed the stage at the Benicassim festival in Spain.

During their set at Benicassim on Thursday, a women stormed the stage trying to get close to the band, but this time security managed to step in before any damage was done.

A witness told the Daily Star Sunday: “She ran on to the stage, punched and kicked security and even crawled under the stage.

At first there were just two guys guarding the band but they called for back-up and in the end it took ten burly bouncers to get rid of her.”

Last year Noel Gallagher was hospitalised with three broken ribs after a man ran onstage and shoved him into monitor speakers in the middle of a show at the V Festival in Toronto, Canada.

You can watch Oasis live at the Melt Festival tonight at 11pm local time and 10pm (UK Time) for more details click here.

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney’s returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater for an outdoor performance on the theater’s marquee yesterday captured on The Late Show With David Letterman drew a crowd that packed Broadway from Times Square to Columbus Circle.

For a peek at footage of the truly historic day, click here!

Fans were treated not only to “Get Back” and “Sing The Changes” taped for the Late Show broadcast but to a veritable mini-concert, as Paul and the band thundered through “Coming Up,” “Band On The Run,” “Let Me Roll It,” “Helter Skelter” and “Back In The USSR.”

As the New York Daily News  reported in a cover story “Paul McCartney still made them twist and shout when he returned to the Ed Sullivan Theater 45 years after he and The Beatles first performed there.”
