Arctic Monkeys single details and more

Arctic Monkeys release new single ‘Crying Lightning’ on Monday 17th August 2009. The single shall be available in 3 different formats, 7″, 10″ and MP3 Digital Download.

‘Crying Lightning’ will be the first single released through Oxfam’s network of charity shops in 25 years. Proceeds will go to help the charity’s lifesaving work around the world.

The limited-edition 7″, which features a cover of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds ‘Red Right Hand’, will be available in every one of Oxfam’s 700 high street shops. Each single will include a download code allowing fans to get an MP3 version of the songs for free. There will also be a 10″ release featuring B-sides ‘Red Right Hand’ and a new track ‘I Haven’t Got My Strange’. The 7″ and 10″ will be available to pre-order in the online store here.

Kitty, Daisy, Lewis confirmed for Late Night With Jimmy Fallon

Kitty, Daisy & Lewis are very excited to make their US TV debut on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon  on August 12th, just one day after the digital release of their self-titled album. Set for an August 25th retail release via DH Records / Mercer Street Records, this international critically acclaimed debut has been catching the attention of many including Chris Martin of Coldplay who requested the trio’s company on the band’s North American summer tour. In addition to praise by Filter Magazine, The Los Angeles Times, Paste, USA Today, Extra! TV and others, fans around the world are championing this multi-instrumental family band as their MySpace page quickly approaches 1 million visitors.

“Kitty, Daisy & Lewis” was cut in the siblings’ custom built studio using original 40s and 50s recording equipment, completely digital-free, and swings with the passion, intensity and sheer exuberant joie de vivre that has made their live performances one of the most talked about shows within the UK and European gig and festival circuit.

Imelda May announces FIRST ever US tour

Irish rockabilly-jazz-boogie-woogie blues belter IMELDA MAY
announces her first ever US tour in September Verve Forecast debut “Love Tattoo ” out on August 11th
 
Handpicked as a virtual unknown by British TV icon Jools Holland to perform on his program, Imelda May quickly landed a label deal with UK’s Universal Records.

The resulting “Love Tattoo” spent two weeks this summer at the  #1 spot on the Irish charts just ahead of Springsteen, Paolo Nutini and Eminem.

As Imelda gets ready to head to the US, she’ll play some of the summer’s biggest European festivals including Glastonbury, Lovebox, Cheltenjam Jazz and Camp Bestival. She just booked dates with guitar legend Jeff Beck.

The Cribs Make New Single Available Early

The CribsThe Cribs have rushed their latest single ‘Cheat On Me’ out onto the digital shelves early in an attempt to beat music pirates. The song was slated for release on August 31st but in a message to fans, singer Ryan Jarman explained the single would be out almost a month early “to beat the leakers”.

Jarman argued that the band had already made one song; ‘We Were Aborted’ free to download so it was like “2 for 1”.The single which is still to be released in physical form at the end of the month is available now from iTunes.
