Ólöf Arnalds announces fall US tour, releases 7″ as US debut

Ólöf Arnalds embarks on her first US tour and issues her first stateside release.

The tour will coincide with the 7” release featuring two covers –
Brazilian singer Caetano Veloso and an Iceland’s Elly Vilhálms.

A-SIDE: Maria Bethânia (from Caetano Veloso’s 1971 London London LP)
B-SIDE: Sveitin milli sanda (The title means “The land between the sands” and was written by Magnus Blöndal and made famous by Elly Vilhálms)

Her second full-length album, Ókídókí, where she again teamed up with
Kjartan Sveinsson from Sigur rós will be out in early 2010.

After performing a series of amazing shows this spring with
Bjork and Dirty Projectors at Housing Works & Blonde Redhead at Celebrate Brooklyn, Ólöf Arnalds returns stateside with series of shows in NYC and West Coast dates in Seattle and Portland.

She will be joined on stage with Davíð Þór Jónsson, who also accompanied Ólöf on her Spring tour.

She’ll also stop by KEXP for a performance.
