RumBum.com to Host the Live Stream of the Lollapalooza Music Festival

OASIS CONCERT MANCHESTER 2009 7On the weekend of August 7 tens of thousands of music lovers will descend upon Chicago’s Grant Park for the legendary Lollapalooza Music Festival. For those who can’t make it to the windy city, RumBum.com will broadcast the best of the fest live from Chicago.

And this one should be good. Lollapalooza will have eight stages playing host to more than 100 bands and DJs ranging from the obscure to the established. Andrew Bird will be there and so will Of Montreal, Kings of Leon, Ben Folds, Depeche Mode, TV on the Radio, Animal Collective, Arctic Monkeys, Neko Case, Lou Reed, The Killers, and of course, Jane’s Addiction.

RumBum.com will be doing it the same way they always do – broadcasting the live stream, interviewing the bands, photographing the shows and sending updates from the ground – so that viewers at home can get closer to all the festival action.

RumBum.com has been doing it all summer, starting with the ROTHBURY Music Festival, in Rothbury, MI and then onto the Mile High Music Festival in Denver, CO, and to the All Points West Music Festival in New Jersey’s Liberty State Park. And they’re looking forward to doing it again at Lollapalooza.

“The entire Rum Bum team has been having a great time this summer, traveling to some of the country’s best music festivals and capturing all of the excitement for viewers at home,” says Luis Bacardi, the original Rum Bum and creator of RumBum.com. “Lollapalooza is one of the biggest festivals there is, so we’re very excited to have the opportunity to broadcast the live stream.”

After Lollapalooza, RumBum.com will finish out the festival season in Austin, Texas with the broadcast of the live stream for the Austin City Limits Music Festival, October 2-4.

The Noisettes are currently touring the States

In the midst of a busy summer schedule of European festival dates, effervescent UK pop trio Noisettes will travel to America for three weeks of club dates in advance of their album, WILD YOUNG HEARTS.

Kicking off July 22nd in Los Angeles, Noisettes will visit nearly a dozen cities. (Please see tour dates below.)

WILD YOUNG HEARTS debuted at #1 on the iTunes UK chart after spawning the massive #2 smash single “Don’t Upset the Rhythm.” The follow-up UK single, the ’60s-tinged soul gem “Never Forget You,” was released on both sides of the Atlantic in June. WILD YOUNG HEARTS is set for September 22nd release in the U.S. on Mercury Records.

Excerpts of “Don’t Upset the Rhythm” and “Never Forget You,” along with the album title tune, “Wild Young Hearts,” “Saturday Night,” “Every Now and Then,” and “Atticus” can be heard on Noisettes’ MySpace website, http://www.myspace.com/noisettesuk. “Scratch Your Name,” “Don’t Give Up” (featured in the soundtrack of the 2007 film series revival St Trinian’s), and “Sister Rosetta (Capture The Spirit).”

WILD YOUNG HEARTS, produced by Jim Abbiss (Adele, Arctic Monkeys, the Rakes) shines the spotlight on versatile singer Shingai Shoniwa, joined by fellow Noisettes Dan Smith on guitar and bearded drummer Jamie Morrison. Shingai has been compared over the years to great voices ranging from Kate Bush and Deborah Harry, to Billie Holiday and Diana Ross, but Shingai – steeped in a panorama of blues, soul, jazz, disco, and funk – is totally unique. Arctic Monkeys slate Ivor Novello Awards

Arctic MonkeysIn an interview with Q magazine (August), Arctic Monkeys drummer Matt Helders revealed he felt the Ivor Novello award his band received for their debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ had been ‘cheapened’ by The Ting Tings being given the accolade:

“The Ivor Novello Awards used to feel like the most meaningful ones but I think they’ve been cheapened.

“I don’t want to be horrible to The Ting Tings but they won it and it’s supposed to be for songwriting. There’s a lot better songwriting ability out there.”

The Monkey’s third effort Humbug is out on August 24th on Domino
