White Lies rock the dead at L.A. graveyard gig

The White Lies played a private set on Hollywood Forever’s hallowed grounds, and the crimson-walled crypt proved to be the perfect environment for the perpetually black-clad and gloom-mongering Brit rockers

Above is a clip (fittingly, of the song “Death”) from the White Lies landmark Hollywood Forever show, which White Lies singer Harry McVeigh declared “definitely the weirdest place we’ve ever played.”

Kings of Leon like White Lies and vice versa, it has been claimed

 Kings Of Leon

Kings Of Leon

The White Lies and Kings of Leon have a mutual respect of each other’s music, it has been reported in certain sections of the media.

Charlie Cave, White Lies bassist, told the BBC that it was a “huge compliment” for the band to find out that a big band like the Kings of Leon are fans of their music.

He added that his group has played with the US band three times, so they are starting to get to know them on personal terms.

White Lies will also be supporting Kings of Leon in 12 of the shows on their US tour later this year.

However, the musical appreciation is not all one-way, with Cave revealing that White Lies like the style of the headliners.

Cave told the broadcaster: “What’s so great about them is they don’t put too much money and effort into lighting and things.

There’s no flashy videos, no elaborate gimmicks on stage.

They just get up there and play their songs.”

Recently, the Sun Newspaper claims the Kings of Leon argued after their appearance at T In The Park, with frontman Caleb Followhill’s Gibson 325 guitar getting trashed.
